Rural U Workforce - Forestry Careers Certificate

Earn Early College certificates while in High School and prepare for tomorrow's workforce.

The certificates are micro-credentials that will have a special designation on a student's transcript and tie into UMFK's degree programs. Certificate classes may be taken by high school juniors and seniors in good standing.

At this time, only the Forestry Careers Certificate is available to students outside of Maine.

It involves taking the following classes online at UMFK while they are enrolled in a Forestry Related program at an approved CTE school in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont:

  • FOR 100 Intro to Forestry
  • FOR 226 Forest Operations
  • ENG 100 English Composition I
  • MAT 128 College Algebra

For more information, contact the UMFK Office of Community Education at 207-834-8645 or visit your High School Guidance Office.
